We start teaching children as young as 4 years old to ride perfect little waves in warm water. If necessary, the keiki will be riding on the instructor’s board. Children 10 years old and younger are required to take a private Keiki Surf Lesson. The student instructor ratio is 1:1.
Our instructors are highly trained and experienced in teaching young children at a very easy pace. The first step is to get used to the ocean and the environment, making it a fun and safe experience. The turtles in the water are always a highlight of the surf session!
What to bring to your Surf Lesson: Water, Sunscreen, Towel, Bathing Suit. We provide you with a rash guard, but most people prefer to bring their own.
Our Instructors are highly trained and experienced professionals who love what they do. All Surf Hawai‘i Surf School instructors are certified lifeguards, CPR and AED certified, and experienced surfers.
